This series combines the good thinning features of a regular L blade with added wet performance.
By adding vertical grooves (slits) on the outside of the L blade, it is possible to grab hair that would otherwise try to escape when wet, so it can be said to be a dual-use type for both dry and wet use.
The MS series also has a blade attached to the comb blade. The original thinning method is to not attach a blade to the comb blade.
